Some Theme Music (Regulate)

Okay so when I was a youngster this track right here was my favorite track for a long time. No matter what rapper was my favorite at that time (Probably Outkast) this song somehow remained my favorite for good few years. I just embodied all that the West Coast was at that time. That chill flow mixed with a little of something old. G Funk.

I also love the fact that the song really has no structure to it. They didn't sit and say we need chorus verse chorus verse and as a matter of fact there is no chorus. They just went with what they thought sounded the best and what fit the mood of what they were trying to do. And still to this day I dig that old school west coast feel that Dre and the rest of them brought to the Hip Hop world even though I was and still am a young dude from Atlanta, Ga.

Even my Mom, who is not a hip hop head, would rank this song among her tops. I remember her says when she went to go see the movie Above the Rim, which this was the lead single of the soundtrack, that when the movie ended everyone liked the song so much that they just stayed though the credits till the song was over. She like that was that was the first time she had seen that happen. For everyone to just sit, just for the music.

Hopefully I can make some people do that one day. That could be me and G one of these days...
